As a Journalist, you play a big part in putting the programme together both at the planning stage and while we're on air. You'll come up with original story ideas, guests and production treatments and carry out background research. You could be working on location, in the studio or the gallery.

Our producers work with colleagues across BBC News and other parts of the corporation. We expect high quality writing skills and the highest standards of accuracy, impartiality and fair dealing in accordance with the BBC's Editorial values. Breakfast is on air seven days a week and operates on a 24hr rota so day and night working is part of the job.

Are you the right candidate?
We need people who match our ambition for the programme. The role is demanding and we set high standards. For that reason we expect you will already be a professional TV journalist with experience of working in broadcast daily news.

BBC Breakfast producers get to work on a wide range of stories, so you'll be creative and resourceful. You'll need to be as comfortable researching an interview with a cabinet minister as you are for one with a film star. You may be sent on an Outside Broadcast or filming with a correspondent.
