Interview Producer

Osterley

The Interviews Producer is responsible for researching, sourcing, pitching and delivering big name guest interviews for Sky News. You will work your own contacts and be responsible for maintaining and improving the channel's contacts database. Working with the output teams you will secure the best voices and exclusive interviews to generate headlines across the output. You will be asked to set up guest plans for major set piece events and work with the Interviews Editor to ensure a wide mix of distinctive personalities and perspectives are represented on air. Your role within Sky News is to craft debate, discussion and opinion and maintain diversity and gender balance across our output.


- Liaise with production teams to identify topics for interviews and debate segments
- Research interview topics and guests, writing first class briefs for presenters and producers
- Book guests and make sure all logistics are arranged to guarantee they make it on air
- Maintain an excellent contacts book and improve the Sky News database
- Contribute in editorial meetings suggesting guest ideas and topics
- May be required to write scripts and cut picture to illustrate guest segments


Your skills:


- Experience in a fast-paced newsroom
- Excellent contacts book and experience of delivering guests
- Passionate about news and current affairs
- Prepared for shift work including weekends
- Journalism qualification
