HR Advisor

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) is a broadcast media company owned by 37 racecourses. It broadcasts live horseracing on satellite and cable in the UK and works with a range of national and international partners to maximise the media rights value to shareholders.

Working as part of a successful and dynamic team in London working from Ealing with regular days at Victoria, dependent on business requirements.

The key focus of the role is to provide an experienced & competent level of both advisory and administrative support, for the full operational HR life-cycle, to all colleagues and Line Managers across both sites. This role reports into the HR Manager. Being the face of HR the role requires approachability, confidence and initiative, pro-activity & a willingness to pursue continued, professional development as befits the role and needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Advising/guiding Managers in all aspects of the Employee Lifecycle and respective policies and procedures

• Minute taking & support for (low to mid level) performance related issues including: disciplinary/grievance/investigation meetings
• Drafting of new policies and procedures and maintenance thereof in accordance with any legal updates
• Supporting the HR manager with the annual performance review and pay review year end process
• Taking full ownership of holiday/ absence management system & analysis of results
• Collation & analysis of diversity data for annual OFCOM submission
• Taking ownership for the full 360 recruitment process including advising hiring managers on JD's and process, advertising, participating
in interview panels and input to decision making.
• Preparation of contracts, job offers, referencing and all other HR administrative documentation to a high standard.
• Processing of paperwork for starters and leavers and notifying payroll
• Creating joiner packs ready for new employees on their 1st day of employment
• Conducting new starter inductions
• Contribution to payroll process
• Creation & maintenance of personal e-files for all new starters and ensuring that all documentation is present and completed
• Conducting Exit interviews, processing of necessary documentation & analysis of data
• Maintaining and updating employee records on the Master HR spreadsheet
• Ensuring the Probation Log is up to date and administering paperwork for probationary periods
• Administering the annual performance appraisal process
• Advising on maternity/paternity process and processing of paperwork thereof
• Assisting HR Manager on HR Projects and Initiatives e.g. Company Values
• Coordinating the company's Occupational Health Referral Process
• Creation & regular updates of Company organisation charts for monthly submission to the Board
• Support with Health and Safety Administration
• Contributing to continual improvement of all HR processes

Essential requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years' previous experience working as an HR Advisor.
• Part CIPD qualified.
• Self motivated and comfortable working independently.
• Standalone ER experience.
• Confident in knowledge and capabilities of best practice HR
• Adaptable and highly conscientious.
• Comfortable in communicating with senior members of staff.
• Excellent organisational skills, time keeping & prioritisation skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Customer focused approach
• Able to build relationships across the whole organisation
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Highly numerate
• Microsoft Office suite - intermediate/advanced
• Experience in HRIS software, e.g. Active Absence
