Overall Purpose
The Head of Production at Radio X will be responsible for the crafting of the sound, voice, and tone of Radio X. Working closely with the Managing Editor and Executive Producers, you'll be at the creative front of this exciting brand, producing station imaging, trails for station and client lead activity, sponsorships and more.

What you'll be doing
Radio X is a station which houses outstanding talent in a rock'n'roll landscape. From artist focused programming to long form station activity, as the Head of Production at Radio X, you'll write and produce imaging and trails which reflects the music we play and content we produce, as well as maintaining and developing imaging for the broader station sound. The Head of Production at Radio X works closely with the Branded Content department to write and produce commercial activity, finding the perfect balance between meeting client objectives and delivering brand integrityAs Head of Production, you will manage a small team of audio producers, delegating work whilst recognising and developing your team's individual skills. You'll also manage, direct and record voice over sessions with on-air talent and station voices. Working alongside the Managing Editor, programming team and commercial programmers, you'll be be responsible for assessing, prioritising and planning the production workflow to meet the demands of the on air output. You will be across the housekeeping of station's playout system, network drives etc, and be responsible for production admin including music reporting etc

You'll have these skills and experience:
Whilst your key skill should be a deep working knowledge of Pro Tools, you should also have a catalogue of creative radio writing work behind you. You should also be familiar with radio playout systems.You will have regularly worked closely with talent, and coached, produced and directed voice over sessions. You should have previously managed and coached a team, recognising and developing skills and ambition. Time management is key in this role, and you'll have demonstrated an ability to prioritise workload within tight deadlines.Radio X is an exciting national radio station and brand, with high profile talent on air and expertise off air: we expect the Head of Production at Radio X should be at the top of their game.

Radio X is also the home of some of the most talented broadcasters in the country, and you'll be a fan of the content the station produces, understanding how it sits on the station, works as on-demand podcasts, and dove-tails with the music we play.Dedication, attention to detail, and the will to be the best are a must.
