Storyglass is a new podcast studio and label at the heart of the Bertelsmann Group.

Job overview:
We are looking for an experienced Production Executive to oversee the operational, financial and administrative functions of a fast moving, rapidly expanding and world class production team.

The successful candidate will lead on the production management of a range of high profile domestic and international podcasts - and contribute to our overall commercial and content strategy.

They will be responsible for budget management, processes and workflows. They will identify production efficiencies, manage freelance staffing needs, align with internal and external facilities companies and ensure the smooth running of multiple productions. They will co-ordinate all of the logistical aspects of a busy production environment. They will be responsible for the successful delivery of a range of individual projects and multi-title content initiatives, within budget and on schedule.

As our Head of Production, they will set standards and best practices at all times and push others to exceed them.

Experience and knowledge required:
The ideal candidate is likely to have extensive experience as a Production Manager or Production Executive.
A demonstrable passion for and understanding of all aspects of audio production, combined with budgeting, scheduling and project management experience within an appropriate environment (radio, podcast, music etc) is essential. Additionally, they will be organised, self-sufficient and have a track record of managing multiple projects across a range of genres.
The successful candidate will be an experienced influencer and great communicator. They will need to bring freelance and facility relationships with them - and have the ability to establish new ones.
They will have the capacity to align with internal teams across HR, Legal and Finance and have impeccable stakeholder management skills. They will have the opportunity to contribute to our marketing, distribution and monetisation strategy, to ensure our content is as commercially successful as it is creatively dynamic. They will also support Storyglass's Managing Director in the delivery of annual budgets, quarterly reporting and longer term business planning.

Here you'll get to:
Oversee the production management of a slate of high-profile audio projects (podcasts, radio etc) across multiple genres
Operationally and logistically lead a team of in-house and freelance production experts
Build budgets
Work closely with internal colleagues/teams on budget development, marketing and merchandising strategies, promotional campaigns and utilisation of our in-house production resources
Manage production budgets and compliance processes across multiple projects
Set and maintain production standards and technical quality
Contribute to Storyglass's wider content strategy

We're looking for:
Extensive budgeting experience across multiple genres
Financial discipline and commercial judgement
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of audio production
Experience in project management, staffing and team leadership
Extensive knowledge and understanding of production schedules and budget management
Understanding and experience of H&S, legal, compliance and rights issues
Experience working across multiple content partnerships, co-productions and production teams simultaneously
A deep understanding of the podcasting and/or radio landscape
A collaborative, influential, inspiring, supportive and enabling management style
An extensive network of relationships in terms of producers, directors, sound designers, musicians, composers, editors, post-prouction facilities, studios etc
The maturity and experience to know when to lean back and when to roll up your sleeves
Impeccable people skills, both in terms of maintaining internal relationships and fostering external ones
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Capacity for innovative thinking and financial problem solving
