Head of Production

The National Film and Television School is one of the world's leading film, television and games schools. It has been cited by some media as one of the top five film schools globally and by one as the No.1 international film school.

We are now advertising for a Head of Production to take the work of the School forward. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is excited about working collegiately with staff and students to enable the work of the next generation of film, television and games-makers.

The NFTS makes more than a hundred and fifty film, television and games projects each year. The School is a full-service studio with the resources in house to produce and complete work to the very highest standards. Many of these projects play leading festivals around the world and win internationally significant prizes.

The Head of Production ensures that the School's resources are effectively utilised, ensuring that students are well supported to deliver their production projects to the very highest quality. A further key responsibility of the role is also to ensure productions are delivered on time and budget, and in line with the School's stated Health and Safety policy and with industry best practice.

As an experienced Line Producer or Head of Production you will have extensive knowledge and practical experience of scheduling & budgeting; of industry custom & practice across production processes; and a proven ability to work at different levels of budget, and across different genres effectively managing resources. Most importantly you will understand the necessity of engaging positively with the key production departments and with students.

Applicants need to be excellent communicators possessing strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working with young people at the start of their careers.
