OR Media is a leading television production company that makes high profile films for many of the world's leading networks. Known for its access, rigorous storytelling and editorial integrity, the company has a proud track record of producing award-winning films in a range of factual genres. We have an extensive back catalogue, multiple new long form commissions, and ongoing productions.
To guide us through this growth period, we are looking to hire an experienced Head of Operations who can provide oversight and leadership through the operational journey from TV production, post production, and final content deliveries.
About the role
Working closely with the Director of Production Operations, you will be responsible for the design implementation of TV content workflows across all global productions, from shoot through to finishing post. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
• Oversee multiple productions simultaneously at varying stages: from pre production, production through to post production
• Work closely with all other department heads to manage and scale productions while assessing costs and timelines that may impact the budget, resourcing, and schedules.
• Develop and report on a set of KPIs for all global operational divisions.
• Provide short to long-term capacity, workforce and workflow planning for company Operations globally.
• Contribute to the overall company strategy, both technically and operationally, to run efficiently and to scale for future growth
• Deliver a set of standard operating processes and procedures throughout the business.
• Implement and maintain an operational training policy for all production crew and freelancers from onboarding to exit
• Identify inefficiencies and areas of improvement in existing workflows.
• Identify potential issues and work with relevant departments to find solutions.
• Maintain and manage third-party suppliers professionally and openly.
• Control the department's budget and capital expenditures
• Provide clear leadership, support, and mentor others in the company, drawing on your industry experience and knowledge.
About you
• 5+ years working in TV production and/or post production environment
• Expert knowledge of production techniques and the ability to confidently use and convey that expertise.
• Working knowledge of cameras and the production process.
• Must have a collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence others into action and think creatively about solutions.
• Will thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
• Be an effective communicator at all levels, including stakeholders.
• A natural collaborator that can build strong relationships.
• Good judgment with the ability to balance the needs of the company and employees.
• Exceptional organisation and project management skills.
• Demonstrable negotiation skills
• Technically, operationally, and financially astute.
• Experience in working in the Middle East is a bonus.
