Lime Pictures, producers of some of the UK's most successful children's drama, including Free Rein, Disney's The Evermoor Chronicles and House of Anubis for Nickelodeon, have a brand-new opportunity for a Head of Development to join our ambitious team of creatives during an exciting period of growth. You will work alongside our hugely successful joint Heads of Lime Children's Drama, writers, agents and broadcasters to drive and curate our original children's slate of great stories brilliantly told. Reporting to you will be an experienced Script Editor so it is essential that you have management experience and the ability to coach and motivate a team.You will have a passion for storytelling and the ability to build and maintain relationships across the industry to ensure Lime has access to the best material in line with the children's team's creative strategy. You will have a current and thorough understanding of the children's landscape and an awareness of the key players in broadcasters, agencies and writers. You will have relevant drama or comedy experience either as part of a development team, production environment, with a broadcaster, or you may be looking to cross over from an agency or writing background. You will be responsible for...Engaging widely with writers, agents and broadcasters to develop and maintain effective relationships.Scouting new writing talent and building on existing relationships with established writers.Maintaining an understanding of the commercial market to support the Joint Head of Children's and business affairs team in bidding for novels and projects.Writing selling documents and treatments.Driving existing development through to fruition.Curating the children's slate, ensuring that progress is made at each stage of the development process and that the slate has an appropriate balance of ideas and projects.You will have...Knowledge of the children's commissioning system in the UKKnowledge of a broad range of talent contacts that can be brought to Lime PicturesStrong influencing skillsExcellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Final DraftExperience script editing for TV programmesExisting networks with commissioners, agencies and writers (desirable)Knowledge of US and SVOD commissioning (desirable)Knowledge of current trends in children's content (desirable)Enthusiasm and positivity in abundance!In return you will be rewarded with the opportunity to gain unparalleled experience working as part of a multi-award-winning team who are leading the way in Children's drama, plus a competitive salary and benefits package.Please send your CV and Cover Letter by 18th October.
