Graphics Playout Operator

RTUK's Graphics Operator (or CG Operator) prepares and plays out the live on air graphics for RTUK News as well as providing playout operation for RT's prerecorded programmes
He or she will be expected to liaise with directors, broadcast journalists and graphics designers. Must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
The Graphics operator will be responsible for checking lower frame straps and full frame graphics are: in the correct order, have the correct spellings and timing cues, and are in the RTUK News housestyle format, ready for playout. Prep work will be carried out on Dalet (Media Asset Management Software) and playout will be undertaken on Viz-Pilot. He or she will be expected to problem solve working within the channel's house style and be proactive in achieving objectives with limited resources.
He or she will be able to maintain high quality playout operation within specific time constraints and have the ability to recover well from setbacks and deal with tough situations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Smooth playout of lower frame and fullframe graphics
• To communicate effectively with directors, broadcast journalists and graphics designers
• Assemble CGs into the correct order within Dalet making sure they are in the correct News Housestyle format.
• Create new generic CGs (eg Live in, Live Out, All Out, Presenter) where appropriate within Dalet
• Check all Voice Overs, Grabs and Packages' CGs have the correct time cues
• Flag up any spelling errors on CGs and fullframe graphics with the broadcast journalist and or director
• Report any equipment or software faults to the engineering department
