Graphic Designer
Nottingham
Purpose of post:
• To provide exceptional, innovative, high quality graphic design services to Nottingham Playhouse across print and digital formats, which promote the theatre's work, awareness and brand whilst generating sales.
• To act as brand guardian for the organisation.
Duties include:
Campaigns
• To create and design product branding and marketing assets for Nottingham Playhouse including Main Stage productions, Neville Studio productions, Participation work, Fundraising and Development, including print and digital formats.
• To design Nottingham Playhouse's season brochure, working with the Marketing Manager to develop the design.
• To design a range of access materials in conjunction with the Audience and Community Engagement Manager.
• To design Front of House material such as posters, banners and other display materials as required.
• To work with Nottingham Playhouse colleagues to produce impactful materials for campaigns. This is principally within the Marketing and Communications team, but also includes liaising with other teams, including Participation and Fundraising.
• To liaise with and support external designers / design agencies on projects in which Nottingham Playhouse is a partner, e.g. for co-productions.
• To liaise with co-producers on the production of artwork for campaigns as and when required.
Corporate
• To play a leading role in shaping and creating the look and feel of all Nottingham Playhouse communications materials.
• To design all corporate materials (e.g. stationery) as required.
Branding
• To champion Nottingham Playhouse's corporate brand and associated sub-brands so that all Playhouse communications adhere to its brand guidelines and that the brand guidelines are adhered to across all departments.
• To work with external design agencies as required to oversee correct implementation of Nottingham Playhouse's brands.
• To maintain the company's written brand guidelines.
Digital
• To create all digital graphics for use in electronic communications.
• To manage Nottingham Playhouse asset bank of images and other media through our Digital Asset Management system to ensure that it is up to date, GDPR compliant and responsive to the needs of the Marketing and Communications Department and wider organisation.
Production
• To manage the production of all design jobs, both print and digital, liaising with external suppliers.
• To schedule work in conjunction with the Marketing Manager, including identifying where external design support is required, managing multiple projects simultaneously to agreed deadlines.
• To ensure assets and materials produced comply with best practise for accessibility.
General:
• To play an active role in the Marketing and Communications Department displaying a positive attitude towards and participation in department meetings and projects.
• To always act in the best interests of Nottingham Playhouse.
• To take positive action to promote Equal Opportunities in all aspects of the work of Nottingham Playhouse.
• To agree to abide by Nottingham Playhouse policies such as GDPR, Health and Safety, child protection etc.
• To maintain confidentiality in all areas relating to Nottingham Playhouse.
• To maximise income and minimise expenditure wherever possible.
• To carry out such other duties as may be reasonably expected of the post.
