General Manager

London

The General Manager sits at the heart of Blue Door's small and dynamic core team, linking together the various projects and work streams. The role combines leading on the financial side, with project delivery/ management and day-to-day management of Blue Door as a company.
This role would suit someone within the creative industries - TV, advertising, theatre production etc. - perhaps currently working as a freelancer but looking for a regular role and income.
We'd also be interested to talk to experienced project managers wanting to develop their skills to serve the needs of a fast-growing and innovative company.
We're looking for someone who thrives on developing and maintaining financial and project processes and systems, and relishes the challenge of bringing together teams and providing scheduling and resource management across projects.

This diverse role is likely to include the following responsibilities and utilise the following skills:
Creating, maintaining and closing project budgets and all correct reporting of Blue Door's finance, including: raising invoices and chasing clients, managing cash flow, negotiating cost agreements with clients and creating and maintaining financial and budget systems.
Managing project schedules, budgets and resources across the company.
Overseeing staff contracting, induction, pay, holidays, wellbeing, internal communication and all other personnel matters.
Line management of a team of 2 general assistants
Making sure policies and procedures are maintained to ensure consistency and that all staff are effectively managed and projects are on track.
Being the first point of contact for new project enquiries - working with the Project Manager to build teams, draw up budgets and recruit freelancers, including contracting and negotiations.
Liaising with clients in the creation and signing off of budgets.
Managing stimulus creation for workshops alongside the Project Manager.
Ensuring all project sheets and company documents are accurate and up to date
Keeping a day-to-day overview of the company

ABOUT THE CONTRACT
We're initially offering a full-time 3-month contract beginning as soon as possible with the intention of this then being renewed for a longer contract, which will be adjusted at the time according to business needs. We're definitely looking for someone who is open to committing to a long-term position with fast personal growth potential, as we continue to expand down the line.
The day-rate is dependent on experience and will be invoiced monthly.
