Full time camera operator
North Yorkshire
Are you an exceptional camera operator or videographer who wants to live and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK? If so read on...
The Role
Dependable Productions is looking for a brilliant lighting camera operator to join our team, based in North Yorkshire but working throughout the UK and occasionally beyond.
You will work with our production team to tell brilliant stories through stunning pictures. This may be filming beautifully lit interviews with one or two high end cameras with high quality lighting and audio equipment, before transferring to a DSLR on a gimbal to film cutaways. You may then be operating the camera on our drone for a BBC Drama, or with the right training if you don't already have it, be flying it yourself.
You''ll manage the data from each shoot ensuring it's appropriately backed up in our production office. The next week you may be operating our remote cameras on a live stream and set up the distribution via multiple Content Delivery Networks.
You will be passionate about creating the best possible images for our clients and will have access to a broad range of our equipment at your disposal including a Sony F55 with Arri LWZ lenses and a selection of primes; a range of alternative Sony cameras including 35mm and PSC style. A Sony A7siii on a Ronin RS2 Gimbal; LED Lighting, a range of shotgun and personal mics, assorted grip such as track and dolly, a jib sliders etc (Training will be provided on equipment you may be unfamiliar with) You will have access to everything you need to excel for our clients. You will also be expected to maintain the kit and ensure it's always in good working order - while managing any repairs that may be necessary with our suppliers.
You will have a genuine interest in equipment - but only to enable you to deliver your best work. You'll be happy to suggest new ways of working or new equipment to improve our processes. However, you will do so with a clear eye for the commercial reality that any new equipment must earn its keep.
You will have the opportunity to travel throughout the UK and occasionally beyond often staying away from home for a few days at a time.
You will be happy to work flexibly knowing that filming can sometimes take place at unsociable times and with long days, sometimes into evenings and at weekends. You'll be offered time off in lieu where appropriate but a strong sense of personal time management will be essential.
All our team are multi-skilled and we embrace people with a diverse backgrounds and a broad ranges of skills and experience. If you have talents in others areas such as production or post production, this would be highly desirable. However, the core role is camera operator/videographer.
