Media Planning's role is to manage the strategy and allocation of owned media across the 4Network. The team is responsible for campaign strategy, implementational planning and airtime data analysis.JOB PURPOSETo plan and manage effective on-air & in-stream campaigns to promote All 4. To track and manage All 4's on air TVR allocation and all promotional inventory across all VOD platforms. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Managing promotional campaigns promoting All 4 both on-air & in stream• Identifying key cross promotional opportunities for on air continuity• Creating campaign assets using a range of in house systems, identifying target audiences & setting campaign weights• Managing campaign copy within the AdServer • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on campaign performance• Supporting the All 4 Media Planning Manager and deputising when necessaryJOB FACTORSTechnical & Professional Skills • Experience of planning on-air media campaigns - defining targets, setting weights and analysing results.• Understanding of Digital Media Planning and audience measurement• Knowledge of VOD platforms and servicesAutonomy/Judgement/Decision Making• The job holder will be responsible for all on-air promotion for All 4, ensuring campaign objectives are met and exceeded where possible• The role involves liaising with senior members of staff and advising best courses of action with regard to the on-air promotion of VOD services and use of promo inventory across all VOD platformsManaging Resources• The job holder will be responsible for managing our owned inventory across all VOD platforms, a highly valuable resource.Relationship Management• The role will involve interaction with many other departments within the channel, including Marketing, Viewer Engagement, Research, 4Creative, VOD Ops, All 4 Content & Product teams as well as working closely with colleagues within Media Planning. Maintaining good working relationships will be key, as Media Planning co-ordinate processes across various departments.Complexity/Problem Solving• Media Planning is a small team with a lot of responsibility. The role requires both strong operational and strategic skills and the ability to balance the two. A pro-active approach to problem solving, good time-management and attention to detail are also necessary. Business Impact/Strategic Perspective• The job holder will be accountable for the effectiveness of the All 4 media strategy and should be able to demonstrate how improvements in efficacy add value to the business• Having a strong, capable and personable candidate in this role is fundamental to the smooth running of Channel 4's On Demand promotional strategyESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS• Experience planning on-air media campaigns in a Broadcast environment- defining targets, setting weights and analysing results.• Understanding of Digital Media Planning • A knowledge of VOD platforms and services• A keen interest in digital media & data analysis• Ability to analyse audience data and develop strategy based on learnings• Proficiency in TV planning systems or equivalent digital channel campaign management tools• Understanding of data application• A knowledge of and enthusiasm for the channel's programmes.• Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.• Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise at all levels.• A flexible approach to work.• A desire to take responsibility and work on own initiative.• Ability to prioritise tasks and act decisively under pressure.• Fast, methodical and accurate, with keen attention to detail.• PC literacy - Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
