Editorial Assistant

Uxbridge

Assisting on the editorial production of all Content Service shows, including; Football analysis, Fanzone researcher, and assisting across all new CS programming, plus some department admin duties

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Part of the Content Service production team working across many aspects of live studio output
• Assisting on the editorial production of programmes for the Premier League
• To plan, research and edit content for any Content Service offering
• Working alongside on-screen talent & senior staff to prepare analysis for all studio programming
• Working alongside a Piero operator to provide live analysis for studio programming
• Working on Fanzone to source worldwide callers and user generated content
• To log and review rushes and select suitable material for editing
• To supervise post production as necessary
• To co-ordinate and/or work in a live studio environment
• Responsible for adhering to compliance guidelines for broadcasters/clients as appropriate
• You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job

• Frequent weekend work and long days in the studio

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience
Mandatory
• Experience of logging rushes and selecting material for edits
• Understanding of the workings of a live studio environment
• Excellent knowledge of the Premier League
• Good general sports knowledge
• Understanding of digital workflow
• Understanding and experience of non-linear edit systems
Desirable
• Experience on a wide range of sports programming, including live OB's, quick-turnaround highlights, documentaries, magazine shows
• Self-editing capability with Avid, Premiere, FCP, etc.
• Experience of dealing with Talent (e.g. presenters, commentators, sports stars)

Skills and Abilities
Mandatory
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Strong editorial sense for stories
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer literate
• Excellent customer focus skills (representing the face of the company/programme to the public/potential contributors)
• Understanding and experience of non-linear edit systems
Desirable
• Self-editing capability with Avid, Premiere, FCP, etc.
