Edit Producer / Script Producer

Bath

As Edit/ Script Producer, you will be responsible for creating a script structure and story, pre production through to post production and supporting the edits teams' delivery.

We are looking for someone who has experience with leading and developing creative teams; this role will be responsible for developing positive working relationships across all areas of the production process, as well as liaising with key stakeholders to understand the creative vision of the channels and how to deliver that to our audiences. You will need to establish short and long term relationships with a wide range of people, talent, partners and agencies.

A key element of this role is an understanding of our audiences and the cycling industry. This role will be responsible for planning and creating the script structure of cycling content, and so will need to have an understanding of our target market and the type of content that they will want to see.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for overseeing the pre production processes on a day-to-day basis
* Lead the team to deliver first class content, ensuring it meets the aims for our platforms / channels
* Deliver the editorial plan and strategy of the Content Directors and communicate this to the teams
* Keep up to date with emerging cycling industry trends
* Ensure all content is delivered within legal frameworks, and on time
* Lead and motivate the team, ensuring that the vision for the series is communicated and understood and that the editorial specification is clear for teams to follow
* Provide editorial direction and a supportive environment
* Develop innovative content, be open to new ideas and motivate colleagues to take creative risks, within the parameters of the PSN Guidelines
* Explore promotional opportunities to maximise audience reach across platforms
* Construct full production schedules and budgets in conjunction with Production Management and other key stakeholders
* Deputise for the Executive Producer/Editor as appropriate
* Contribute to the department strategy as required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Experience of creating compelling, innovative content
* Ability to communicate a clear editorial vision to a wider creative team
* Experience of the latest production processes, techniques and technologies
* Excellent editorial judgement and knowledge of a target audience, their needs and expectations
* Experience of having to make clear and effective editorial judgements in a fast paced environment
* Experience of influencing, negotiating and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies/partners
* Excellent planning and organising skills
* Ability to manage several areas of work at one time, prioritising, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities
* Able to lead the team to develop creative ideas which work across a series and engage diverse audiences
* Experience of managing performance in teams and giving feedback

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
* Knowledge of the cycling industry, including audiences, competitors and industry trends
* Knowledge and understanding of the wider media industry
* Evidence-driven understanding of our diverse audiences, to ensure we accurately represent them
* Understanding of the importance of the PSN's values of accuracy and impartiality
* Thorough knowledge of editorial and legal guidelines
* Willing to develop an extensive knowledge of PSN's editorial guidelines and other compliance policies
