Edit Assistant & Technical Coordinator

London

We are looking for an Edit Assistant & Technical Coordinator.

We specialise in creating entertainment-led advertising campaigns - bold, innovative content solutions for big brands. Our campaigns deliver engaging content across social media and TV and get people talking.

You will need to have at least 12-18 months experience working as an Edit Assistant with a love for editing, all things technical and the converging media landscape including digital outputs. You must be happy to work alone as the primary editor, or within the creative team, enjoying the pace of a small energetic agency with a passion for doing new things.

It goes without saying that you must have excellent editing skills, strong organisational qualities and a narrative led mindset. You should also have a problem solving attitude for any technical elements as will be the go to resource for any technical troubleshooting support all the office IT requirements.

You should have an interest in the ever evolving technical landscape driving the technology agenda forward, always striving to ensure we are abreast of latest technology across all aspects of the business.

Editing & Presentation Outputs
• Assist in offline edit requirements for projects
• Create social assets as needed for projects
• Edit showreels and internal tapes
• Edit mock up and offline material for projects
• Create final online files to spec for transition to channel
• Create presentations in Indesign keynote and Powerpoint where required
• Proficient editing, Photoshop and After Effects work as required and being able to
• Ensure that pitches and presentations are supported throughout the process, providing technical or research support as required.

Technical Outputs
• Be the first port of call for the team for any technical/ IT troubleshooting and the key contact for Lucidica.
• Support the office IT requirements, including new person set up and general equipment maintenance. Logging all equipment and assignment to both permanent and freelance employees.
• Work alongside Production in TV Trafficking for the Technical delivery of files to Clearcast and Broadcast ready files to the required Channels.
• Maintain Server and users as well as trouble-shooting any issues, liaising with Lucidica where necessary. Ensure that server protocol is being adhered to and that regular checks and archiving are taking place.
• Log and Archive Back-ups (media from the server past projects archiving onto drives and LTO to be put into storage).
• Maintain fibre & wifi requirements, ensuring the business is fully operational at all times with the best connectivity possible.
• Help maintain the Tempora system, troubleshooting any issues. Be a point of contact for colleagues requiring help. Upload new project details in the absence of the Creative Services Manager
• Drive the technology agenda forward, always striving to ensure we are abreast of latest technology across all aspects of the business.
• Actively build Post House Relationships and ingrain in post-production workflows on all projects
• Ensure rushes are returned to the company on completion of a job and archived accordingly
• Ensure clean versions have been provided of all deliverables as well as viewing files that are easily emailed to external parties.
• Ensure final files for internal purposes have been created and filed in the deliveries folder.
• Maintain The Outfit Website and Outfit Social media outputs
• Ensure that the disaster recovery plan is kept up to date as appropriate (for example contact numbers, relocation to temporary offices, IT back up process, reinstallation of backups and getting us back to operational capability etc) and circulated to the management team. Ensure that the central office copy is printed and available at all times.


Skills, experience, abilities

• A minimum of 12-18 months experience working as an edit assistant
• A strong understanding of editing software (including but not limited to Premier) design software and editing skills
• Excellent organisation skills, specifically in terms of arranging of projects and asset material
• A narrative led mindset
• Great interpersonal skills (Ability to be part of a team, work well with others in an open-plan department and deal politely with visitors from other companies)
• Must have very good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Premier.
• Professional communications
• Ability to cope in a very busy environment and to perform in high-pressured situations, to be able to prioritise and cope with several tasks at once - to be calm and level-headed
• To have and use initiative, but also be able to respond to instruction and have a willingness to do whatever is required
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively without supervision
• Excellent attention to detail
• To possess a keen attitude and willingness to learn
• A flexibility and willingness to get the job done
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
