Edit Assistant

Brighton

Back2back Productions are looking for an Edit Assistant to join our busy technical team.

The successful candidate will have experience of working across documentary post-production and will primarily be doing Ingests and conforms, working across the online, grade and dubbing suites.

You will also be assisting with junior-level editing tasks and helping the development team with cutting promos, all at one of Brighton's leading independent production companies.

You must be calm under pressure, a strong team player, self-motivated to take ownership of daily tasks and carry them out to a very high standard from start to finish.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, friendly and flexible in your approach to work.

Key responsibilities:
• Media management, wrangling, ingesting and organising rushes and archives,
• Preparing conforms and deliverables for the online, grade and audio suites, including audio and archive EDLs, AAF's, BITC and clean screeners,
• Audio prep and liaising with Dubbing Mixer to ensure smooth running of VO and mixes,
• Prepping final episodes in accordance with delivery dates,
• Providing support for technical issues and general ad-hoc troubleshooting to the offline suites,
• Log and report support and workflow issues,
• Liaising with other teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth running of edits.

About you: Your Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
• A good knowledge of the Avid Media Composer/Symphony environment,
• Experience of DaVinci Resolve and After Effects is an advantage,
• A sound knowledge and understanding of TV and Film Post-Production standards, codecs, technologies and workflows,
• Good IT skills,
• A confident, creative instinct as well as a technical eye,
• A positive and flexible approach with an ability to think independently in resolving issues,
• An ability to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines,
• A calm approach to a high-pressured environment,
• Strong communication, and Team collaboration skills are essentials.

Hours: Working to daytime shift patterns at our facility in Brighton.

Salary: Based on experience

The position is full time and based in Brighton, starting immediately.
