This role:
We are seeking five new Duty Support Technicians forming a new team together with existing staff to support the Production team to successfully deliver Southbank Centre's programme through maintaining technical equipment and work spaces. You'll be required to do first line maintenance of all in-house production related technical equipment and ensure compliance with current safety and electrical regulations. You'll look ahead at equipment needs, ensuring equipment is prepared, and carry out daily servicing of all breakout rooms and other areas. You'll also get involved in storing and maintaining lighting, sound, rigging and AV equipment alongside keeping the asset management system up to date.
We are looking for candidates with strong experience of working in a technical capacity within the entertainment industry, especially in a maintenance environment. You will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of health and safety legislation and safety best practice, together with competence and/or a qualification for working with electrical equipment. An understanding of LOLER regulations is essential, as are excellent organisational and team working skills. Strong IT skills and good literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
Hours and shift pattern:
Working on rotation, the team of Duty Support Technicians will provide support to the department across seven days a week. Each DST is rosterable for up to 160 hours over a four week schedule. In most weeks each DST will work four to five shifts, of varying lengths between 8 and 14 hours.
