Documentary Assistant Producer (Qatar)

An experienced Documentary Assistant Producer is required to join a high-end documentary team embedded within a major international sporting organisation based in Doha, Qatar.
This Documentary Assistant Producer role will entail working at the direction of a Producer and Executive Producer with internal clients and key stakeholders to develop, refine and fulfill high-quality production deliverables. This role requires collaborating with a dynamic production team and external resources to ensure on-schedule and on-budget delivery of projects in a corporate environment.
The Documentary Assistant Producer role is offered as a full-time contract over a period of 3 years based in Doha, Qatar, with an initial 3-month probation period. The preferred start date for this role is 19 May 2019.
Key Responsibilities:
• To support the output requirements of the embedded documentary team as required and to assist on productions and resources as assigned.
• Create and refine project research, briefs, scripts and presentations.
• Develop and collaborate on project goals, timelines and budgets.
• Attend to location filming requirements (local and international)
• Source and procure third-party suppliers as needed to fulfill requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors as assigned for all aspects of content production, editorial and music production.
• Ensure proper permitting and clearances as well as brand and copyright compliance throughout all productions.
• Facilitate approval process across deliverables and departments and vendors.
• Report on projects as and when required.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• 3+ years' experience working as an Assistant Producer within the broadcast content industry.
• Extensive knowledge of pre, post, and production timelines and workflows.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task on simultaneous projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, preferably Arabic as well as English.
• Expert working knowledge of Windows, OSX, and all MS Office Applications.
• Prior experience as an assistant producer in Qatar is preferred but not essential.
• All applicants must provide online links to recent broadcast documentary programmes they have produced, along with reference contact details.
• A valid passport (with at least 6 months validity) and valid driver's licence.
Contract Description:
• The successful candidate will be contracted to with an initial 3-month probationary period.
• Following Qatari law; a Qatar Labor Contract will be issued which includes provision for annual holiday payment; and the successful applicant will be required to obtain a government issued Qatari ID and to open a Qatar based bank account.
• The successful applicant will be supplied with a Qatar business visa
• Working hours follow Qatar's labor law and 5 day working week: that is Sunday to Thursday.
• Payment will be made in Qatar currency directly into the applicants personal Qatar bank account.
• 1 x international economy class return flights to Qatar is provided per year.
• Insurance during working hours is provided for accident, sickness, death as required by Qatar labour law.
• Accommodation / living costs are not provided (assistance will be provided as required in sourcing suitable accommodation)
• All copyright is assigned to the client. This is non-negotiable.
Please note: the successful candidate will be expected to cover their own accommodation and living expenses from the monthly salary provided. The salary is designed to cover these living costs. The company will provide assistance in finding accommodation and will provide ground level support as required by the candidate.
