Director of Photography

London

We are looking for an experienced DoP to film the opening sequence of our upcoming web series/short film. The web series short film is a 30 minute test of high-concept comedy and a chance to build a team that can work on a feature-length project currently being written by an Emmy-nominated screenwriter. The aim for the short film is to submit to festivals, particularly in the US.

The filming will involve a day of green screen/dark screen beauty shots of steel drums, beer and shot glasses, plus a few close ups of actors that will form a self-contained dream sequence. All filming will be in Brixton in a studio. These shots will form the opening sequence and be a standalone piece that you are DoP of.

The previous DoP is working on a feature and unavailable.

This is self funded but we appreciate it would involve your time. The budget we have available is £250 for the day, including kit.

Please note that kit is useful but not a pre-requisite. We own a c300 MkII and documentary lighting and lenses, which we would hope to supplement for the shoot. Ideally, you have access to prime lenses.

This is a chance to work on a high-end short and to build a relationship with a growing company, more details below.

Please apply with a showreel or relevant green screen and beauty filming and an outline of your kit.

We look forward to hearing from you

best,
Econ Films

*About me and my production company:*
I have a successful education production company, Econ Films, and have just set up a new production company to produce fiction - focusing on high concept sci-fi and comedy.

Our first project is the web series Simulated Dead People, which won Web Series Of The Week' at IndieSeriesNet and has screened at festivals worldwide, including Raindance Webfest, ITVfest sponsored by HBO, Marseille Webfest sponsored by Studio Canal and The Geneva Film Festival. The project is now being developed for TV.

As a director, my two previous projects were political satires A Very European Break Up and United Queendom - both of which received international media coverage and praise.
