We create a wide range of high quality animation for various markets and platforms, from children's tv shows to virtual reality experiences, and this role will give you the opportunity to make a real creative contribution to our work.

Job description

Provide vision and creative leadership across all animation projects, from children's broadcast work to immersive animated VR content.
Lead a small core team of staff animators plus a larger team of freelancers over a variety of projects, allocating work, giving feedback and approving animation.
Work across the studio with other creative leads, production team and senior management.
Contribute ideas and develop the visual style of different projects.

Experience, skills & qualities required

Ideally experienced as a head of animation or similar, but those with significant time as a senior / lead animator will be considered.
Several years of experience using Maya essential. Skills in 3DSMax and 2D animation software an advantage.
Experience using Shotgun an advantage but training can be given.
Excellent storytelling skills.
An understanding of the importance of quality, consistency, continuity and attention to detail.
Storyboarding, character design and/or rigging skills an advantage but not essential.
The ability to inspire, mentor and develop our team of animators.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, mostly within the studio but at times also with external partners and clients.
Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to work to schedules, understand the importance of meeting deadlines and with sensitivity to budgets.
A positive attitude, flexible and good at problem solving and finding ways to improve workflow.
