Sky News is looking for talented studio directors, to shape the future of our award-winning gallery team. Sky is at the forefront of rolling news technology, and this is an exciting opportunity to work with, and create the next generation of broadcast news output.

As a Sky News Director, you will bring together all the elements of the production process, whilst maintaining our high editorial and aesthetic standards. This role is on a part-time rotational shift basis, 20hr week 10hr shifts (earlies, late's or overnights).

- Coordinate and direct production, gallery crew, talent and remote sources
- Understand the language of TV News, and be able to competently direct a range of programme formats
- Collaborate closely with the Producer and production teams to ensure the look and feel of the programmes maintains the high standards of Sky News.
- Operate Ross Overdrive live on air for transmission of programmes.
- Direct outside broadcasts on an ad hoc basis

You'll have:
- A genuine passion for TV news and strong familiarity of Sky News and subject matters.
- Experience directing in a live news or sports environment, preferably rolling news
- Strong understanding of editorial requirements.
- High degree of familiarity with the technical process of gallery production
- Ability to make quick decisions, solve problems and remain calm under pressure.
- Professional and diplomatic communicator.
- Proactive approach and committed to continuous improvement.
