We are looking for a Director on our Standards & Practices team in London. The Director will provide support and guidance to all platforms for the new international news service.

Job Duties:
Maintain the reputation, journalistic integrity and editorial independence of the news division
Help oversee news division wide standards policies and guidelines.
Work with Executive Producers, Senior Producers, Executive Editors and Supervising Editors on guidance involving accuracy, fairness and adequate sourcing in all reporting.
Support Executive Producers and Executive Editors with ethics issues and training.
Provide advice to the news division journalists (both on air and off) on news standards.
Ensure that new and current employees are continually educated on NBC News Standards & Practices policies - across all platforms.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, History or a related field of study.
• Extensive years of working experience within the international news industry; digital, long-form or day of air.
• Must have solid news and editorial judgment.
• Must have ability to communicate and collaborate well with colleagues.
• Self-starter; able to work independently and proactively and have confidence in decisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and successfully with all levels of talent and management.
• Ability to handle confidential material with utmost discretion.
• Strong writing and editorial skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively while meeting deadlines.
• Proven ability to remain calm in high pressure environment.
• Must have ability to multi-task.
• Prior experience in network television management preferred.
• Prior experience in investigative journalism.
• Knowledge of digital journalism and social media standards and practices.
• Must be open to learning and using new technology.
• Strong experience with managing multiple stakeholders relationships.
