The NHU is embarking on an ambitious new 90' feature documentary on global conservation.

This role is subject to funding.

Role Responsibility

We are looking for a Director to start ideally in February 2018 for one year. Together you and the Series Producer will be creating the look and the narrative of the film and directing the sequences. Editorially you will be their right hand person.

You may be involved in the edit but it is unlikely you will be finishing the film.

The Ideal Candidate

You need to demonstrate you have the following qualities:

You have directed contributors who are working in the field, telling compelling emotional stories about their work and their lives.
You are experienced in the edit, cutting compelling and exciting sequences.
You are able to get the most out of contributors.
You are able to set up and direct wildlife sequences.
You have a thorough understanding of wildlife filmmaking equipment and camera people.
You have the resilience to work in demanding areas of the globe.
You have a strong understanding of the world of wildlife conservation and environmental films.
You thrive in a tight knit team, working to strict budgets and timetables.
