Digital Producer

London

The Digital Producer will be responsible for managing all the Jeremy Vine digital platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. They will be brimming with ideas for digital content, which will get the show noticed.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day running of the Jeremy Vine Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channels
Keeping on top of social media trends to feed back to the on-air team - highlighting material and trends that would also make great television
Posting engaging online callouts on Facebook and Twitter before the show goes on-air
Choosing which comments will be used on-air and preparing them for presenters in iNews
Posting the most eye-catching, headline-grabbing video clips that will generate the most views online during and after the show
Editing videos on Avid in a variety of formats to suit different platforms
Getting videos out as quickly as possible when something happens on the show that will generate comment and press coverage
Liaising with press team to get Jeremy Vine video clips sent out to the news outlets
Ensuring all digital output from the Jeremy Vine social media accounts are in line with the "voice" of the show, are legally compliant and in adherence with the programme, ITN and Channel 5's values
Compiling monthly reports on which videos and posts are getting the most views and engagement to feed back to the team and Channel 5

Qualifications
Editorially creative and imaginative
Previous experience in running social media channels for a daily/topical show
Knowledge and experience of topical issues and current affairs
A strong journalistic background with knowledge of media law
First-class editorial judgement when it comes to writing callouts and selecting suitable clips to publish from the show
Experience of editing video, preferably using Avid
Experience of using iNews is an advantage
The highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail around often complex and controversial material
Perfect punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail
Adept at working independently - a self-starter, comfortable at being stretched
Excellent communication skills
Experience of legal situations and understanding of ITN Legal compliance procedures
Good interpersonal skills and a team player with personal authority
Calm under pressure with the ability to adapt and be flexible in task and role
