The role will include working with the Education, Film and Digital Development departments to create week-long science projects where students investigate scientific phenomena and solve engineering challenges and then produce a short film to show what they know.

This is a full-time position, with an August start date, initially on a 5 month contract.

Skills and Experience

- An understanding of how video production can provide active learning experiences for young people
- Digital product development and/or interactive content production experience across e-learning, web or games
- Experience in working within and maintaining Content Management Systems
- An understanding of short-form storytelling - experience in scriptwriting and/or video editing would be an advantage
- Excellent organisational and asset management skills
- First class communication skills
- Solution focussed with an ability to recognise potential issues and the confidence to escalate possible risks

You will be motivated and proactive, with a proven track record of delivering to deadlines.

Please note this is not an entry level role.

Key Responsibilities
- Ideate week-long science challenges, where the end goal is for students to produce a short film to demonstrate what they have learned using Twig Movie Maker, a browser based video editing tool which supports students to solidify learning through creativity and storytelling.
- Collate multimedia research packs for students using existing Twig material, commissioning new content where required
- Work with the film team to collate archive footage banks for students and produce exemplar films
- Work with the Education team to produce teacher and student instructional material that support the challenges
- Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure editorial needs are met at product level
- Look for opportunities to integrate Twig Movie Maker into core curriculum resources
- Work with the Rights Management team to check video material, stills and music are clearable

Though this role would normally be office based, staff are currently home-working until it is safe for us to move back to an in-office environment. We are reviewing our plans in line with Scottish Government policy.

To apply for this role, please complete the Online Application Form, attaching a CV, along with a covering letter demonstrating the extent to which your skills, abilities and experience meet the requirements of this role. Applications close on Friday 31st July at 12pm.
