Development Producer/Director

Brave Bison is looking for a Development Producer/Director to spearhead our new video development and production unit.

You will be a first class operator in digital video production, developing formats, one-off's and mini-series from conception to delivery. From sponsored content to series for our owned and operated brands, this new role will be at the forefront of our video production. Entertaining, engaging, on brand and on message should be at the heart of all our content.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Publishing, this is an exciting new role dedicated to shaping and upleveling Brave Bison's video production across our key brands, including The Hook, as well as executing branded/sponsored content partnerships.

You will be an expert in developing content that will appeal to Gen Z and Millennial audiences and engage them on a variety of digital platforms - from social to streaming. We are looking for someone to help us build a media brand and have the ability to prioritise and rightsize creative and execution with both the big and small picture in mind.

Whilst leading the creative charge, execution will also be at the heart of this role. A self shooter and director who can ensure the vision and delivery of the creative go hand in hand.

Experience working with talent and agents is essential as is managing, motivating and inspiring a team of assistant producers, researchers, camera ops and editors.

As well as possessing strong visual storytelling skills you will be on top of up to the minute trends across video, whether consumed across social, streaming or publisher platforms.

Creative plays a huge part of our company culture and this role will play a vital role in fostering ideas from across the business and building on existing processes.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and pitch series content on a regular cadence and secure buy in from editorial commissioners and commercial partners.
- Responsible for all aspects of creative and (working with the production manager) production of the development unit, including ideation, pitches, scripting, shooting, directing, interviewing, edit producing, sourcing talent and contributors.
- Oversee post production and editing process with knowledge of the Adobe suite a benefit.
- Think digital and cross-platform, navigating the nuances between each one and how they make impact in isolation as a part of a bigger picture.
- Work with internal cross functional teams and clients to ensure work is delivered to the highest levels of creativity and production value.
- Lead creative brainstorming sessions.

Requirements:

- Have a strong creative vision with a clear and concise ability to provide direction whilst leading and inspiring a creative team.
- A minimum 5 years industry experience with hands on experience in a Producer / Director or similar type role.
- Proven track record in developing and delivering video for digital platforms essential.
- Able to demonstrate a history of high creative, high impact, high engagement digital video content.
- Ability to self shoot and direct.
- Experience working with clients advantageous.
- Passion for comedy and entertainment content.
- Deep understanding of video trends on established and emerging platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A collaborative team player - elevate, inspire and develop not just this team, but internal partners too.
- Proven ability to multi-task and problem solve.
