Development Executive

London

We are looking to expand our comedy entertainment department with the addition of a senior development exec. As well as being responsible for developing and pitching new ideas, you will be working alongside Stu Mather to devise development strategy for the department.

This job is for you if you......

• Have a proven track record in the development, pitching and production of entertainment ideas for all major broadcasters and streamers
• Have proven commissioner and talent relationships
• Have experience of running development teams
• Know what's funny!

The job will involve some office working where possible during the pandemic, remote/home working and flexibility. This is a 1-year contract initially, with the possibility to go permanent thereafter.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from under-represented groups in our industry.

This role is ideally full-time; however, we are open to flexible working, job share and max/min working hours arrangements.

Why Join us?
We are one of the largest 'true' independent Production Companies left in the TV industry. Our hits are many and varied and include Derry Girls, Outnumbered, Dinner Date, Father Ted, Episodes, Room 101, Mastermind and Have I Got News For You. The Hat Trick Group encompasses HTM, co-owned with Jed Mercurio, Livewire Pictures which covers entertainment and live events including the Proms, and Plum Pictures which specialises in documentary and factual.

2020 saw us produce Bloodlands, a four-part thriller starring Jimmy Nesbitt for BBC 1, Kate and Koji, a six-part sitcom by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin for ITV, and cope with the challenges of keeping Have I Got News for You on air during lockdown. We are currently back in production on Mastermind for BBC and Hypothetical for Dave. 2021 is looking very busy with a new six-part drama for ITV and a three-parter about the investigation leading to the conviction of two of Stephen Lawrence's murderers. We will be back in production on Kate and Koji as well as the long awaited third series of Derry Girls and have many exciting projects in the late stages of development.

You will find a culture that is hard working yet supportive, open and fun. There's a lot going-on but we try hard to ensure we give the right support to everyone - we listen to your feedback and try to do the right thing. It's important to us that our employees reflect our wide and diverse audience and create an environment that celebrates difference and the things that makes us all unique.

Please send your CV and covering letter.
