Bend It TV are looking for a Development Producer / Executive to work closely with Gurinder Chadha and Paul Berges, to flesh out original ideas and drive forward our development slate in line with the creative vision for the company. The role is responsible for driving the development of a large slate of projects, mainly drama, with the aim of securing commissions from a variety of broadcasters, UK and US and production partners. Liaising with agents, writers, publishers. • To implement the development strategy, both on individual projects, and the slate as a whole, alongside the Development Producer/s, Head of Production and Company heads • To read and assess commissioned scripts/treatments, newly created ideas/scripts and submitted scripts/treatments and books of interest for company consideration; writing script notes, script reports and coverage • To ensure the efficient, effective management and communication of the development slate, making sure that deadlines and developments are kept to the schedule• To proactively identify new talent and material, through keeping abreast of UK and US television drama, regular theatre going, attending Film Festivals where possible, and awareness of the book market.• To organise materials and ideas for development initiatives- brainstorms, away days, workshops, writers rooms • To be a point of contact, representing the company, in communicating and approaching agents, writers, producers and directors in the interest of attaching them to projects in development • Project research and writing, as part of development• Drafting, revising and refining pitch documents in collaboration with the team, for the purpose of attracting talent and commissioning• Creating and maintaining the script log, management of database information and producing appropriate management information and reports• Writing, maintaining and updating slate documents, for discussion and implementation at weekly drama meetings, quarterly business meetings and bi-annual board meetings• To arrange and set up project meetings/follow ups and generals with talent and production partners/broadcasters/commissioners
