Deputy Stage Manager

The Sound 2 assists the team in the co-ordination, hires and preparation of equipment and venue supplies, in tech and throughout the run. Full details of the duties and responsibilities can be found in the job description, along with the rehearsal and performance dates.

We're looking for people with experience of working in a similar role on a medium scale run in the West End of London or equivalent, excellent live mixing skills with a proven track record of dealing with complex radio mic shows, and the ability to work well under pressure.

- To be an active member of the technical team, working to support and assist staff as required, and providing support and assistance to cover days off
- To account for and support the administration of petty cash for Sound Department spends, obtaining where possible VAT invoices for any hires and purchases put through on petty cash
- To attend technical and dress rehearsals to ensure awareness of the sound requirements, and any resulting changes
- To uphold the high production standards expected for a first-class play, and the high artistic quality required by the Sound Designer and Associate Sound Designer
- To act on own initiative and to deputise for the Sound No. 1, including live mixing the show and facilitating any maintenance work required
- To carry out all other duties normally associated with the role of Sound No.2 on a run of a first-class play in the West End of London
- To carry out careful observation and have an active involvement in all production related risk assessments
- To be an active member of the team, working to support and assist staff during weekly running, and providing support and assistance to cover days off
