Creative Producer

Birmingham

We are looking for an experienced producer to join the team at our award-winning video production company based in Birmingham and working globally. The role is based in Birmingham but with some national and international travel as required.

We produce live action and animated films for a range of clients from FTSE 250 organisations to small local companies working in a range of industries including rail, energy, agriculture, tech (startups/scaleups), sport and others. Our budgets typically range from £5k to > £100k. We fundamentally believe that quality is the best business plan and pride ourselves on producing some of the best work in the region, that competes on a national level.

We expect high standards, flexibility and a willingness to work until the job is done. However, we are also a friendly and inclusive company with a flexible approach.

The Role
The role involves producing high-quality promotional films, some TV commercials and other content as required. We need someone to take responsibility for every aspect of pre-production, production and post-production on any given film. A working knowledge of production across commercials, corporate and online content is expected. It is full-time but we are open to flexible working arrangements.

This role equally balances three main tasks; ensuring high quality, creative execution of film projects, maintaining profitability on these projects and keeping clients happy.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• quoting on projects
• assembling appropriate crews for shoots
• ensuring shoots are executed safely, according to Health and Safety Law
• managing all shoot logistics
• maintaining client relationships, particularly during shoots but also at other times, as required
• managing projects through post-production with internal and freelance post resources
• keeping abreast of technology developments
• expanding the company's network of crew
• finding new talent
• embodying the spirit and personality of the company
• attending occasional networking events in the evenings and representing the company
• Other duties, as required.

What we're looking for
The above skillset is our basic list of what's required to do the job, beyond that we're looking for someone that is excited about commercial and content production that can manage and oversee complex and multifaceted projects and is interested in helping to develop and grow the company as a whole.

We are interested in candidates who are experienced in:
- responding to creative briefs (researching background, developing concepts, creating pitch decks)
- have business development experience (not cold calling but everything from sales meetings onwards)
- management experience (working with an office-based team rather than managing a crew).

We are proud to be a family-friendly, equal opportunities employer. We believe that everyone deserves equality of opportunity and we actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and under-represented groups. In particular, we welcome applications from parents and carers who may be returning to the workplace and who may be looking for a flexible working arrangement and a welcoming environment.

Salary TBC but we are expecting someone in the £30k-£40k range, commensurate with experience.

We were very quick to adapt to Covid protocols in the office and on set. Though we anticipate a return to office working at some point there are no immediate plans to do so.
