Creative Director/Producer (Freelance)

London

Purpose..
* To lead on a new Commercial Content strategy across UK, Europe & Africa
* To ideate, execute & distribute the creation of editorial & video content projects & series aimed at generating revenue for the Europe & Africa business
* To work in collaboration with content teams across the world, particularly partners in the US Video, Editorial & Branded Content teams, to ensure quality, brand & strategic consistency
* To work in collaboration with local & global sales teams across the world to hit as-set commercial targets
* To work in collaboration with the Europe & Africa leadership team to create an environment on and off platform where brands want to invest in our personality led, appointment to view content
* To lead on a new off-platform monetisation strategy across UK, Europe & Africa
* To answer commercial briefs with content ideas - and the execution of them - that deliver revenue for UK, Europe & Africa, in line with global ESPN standards & the brand
* To regularly report & update on strategy, process, content launches and KPI trackers

Responsibilities:
* Partner with internal stakeholders (ad sales, editorial, social teams) as well as external partners (clients, agencies) to develop and deliver sponsored & branded content solutions for ESPN's off platform and on platform channels, aimed at generating revenue for the Europe & Africa business.
* Lead, execute & review project creatives including scripts, edits, graphics and audio from in-house producers, outside vendors and other creative partners.
* Provide direction and evolve project solutions as necessary. Attend shoots and post sessions as needed to supervise, approve, or guide creative solutions.
* Lead and/or participate in any relevant internal and external discussions.
* Create content solutions and integrations that are innovative, on budget and on schedule.
* Keep department current and competitive regarding creative trends and industry projections.
* Be responsible for analysing and evaluating the creative group's output against commercial and traffic KPIs set for the group - and reporting regularly to the wider business on progress.

Basic Qualifications:
* Experience in leading a creative team that has delivered compelling content for a media organisation or digital agency.
* Experience in managing schedules, shoots, budgets and delivery of video solutions.
* Experience in managing agency and client briefs is highly desirable.
* Proven expertise in social video content is essential. Knowledge of social platform formats is essential.
* Experience in senior stakeholder management is desirable.
* Experience in sports production is an advantage.
