The UK's most exciting, innovative and multi-award winning digital human rights charity is recruiting a full-time Creative Director. RightsInfo is a fast-growing organisation which is changing the way people communicate about human rights. We build knowledge and support for human rights in the UK with engaging, accessible and beautifully-presented online content. In just two years, our videos, infographics, stories and explainers have brought us a monthly organic Facebook reach of five million and tens of thousands of followers. We have won the Plain English Campaign "Communicator" Award, a 2017 UK Blog Award, and our work has just been officially selected at the Annecy International Animation Festival.
Who are we looking for?
> You will be the steward and guardian of the RightsInfo brand, its creative model and its sector-leading content. You will be be an enthused and passionate advocate of the mission and vision of the brand. You will inspire the RightsInfo team to push their imaginations and talents to create 'of the moment' communications that unlock and engage new audiences with content for a mobile-first generation.
> You will be a driven and on-the-pulse creative always striving to keep RightsInfo cutting-edge and industry-leading. You will be interested in innovation and disruption, and make sure RightsInfo grows with the changing social media landscape and shareable news-content platforms. You will want to take all your learning from the corporate, commercial and design world and use it to change the world for the better.
> You will be someone who loves telling stories. You will have experience in storytelling through film, animation, photography, illustration, graphics, brand and through mobile experiences. You will understand design-led thinking, starting from what the audience wants and designing functional content and platforms that work for them.
> You will be someone who isn't afraid of mucking in. RightsInfo is a small, rapidly growing organisation, and we are recruiting a full-time Creative Director to service a growing number of projects and an ambitious strategy. You will be someone who enjoys hands-on project management as much as having a flair for creative strategy.
The Creative Director will...
- Ensure that RightsInfo's website, social media, videos and other creative output is of the highest creative standard
- Report to the Chief Executive to provide creative direction and strategy, and to project-manage all of RightsInfo's creative work
- Plan for future creative projects and assist at all stages of the bidding, planning and execution of those projects
- Build relationships with leading talent from within the creative industries
- Work with the Chief Executive, Strategic Director, Content Creators and volunteers to provide creative advice and occasional training
- Monitor, drive and evolve the RightsInfo brand
- Be the future-looking team member staying in touch with future trends, tech, and new content models and formats, to find ways for RightsInfo to deliver ahead of the curve
Skills you need to have
- Great understanding of brand and impact
- Bold, imaginative storytelling to build engagement and reach
- Ability to develop and pitch on a range of digital projects
- Running and supporting a creative team
- Project-managing complex creative projects
- Interested in future trends, innovation and disruptive thinking
- Good design and filmmaking technical ability - Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, photography, film direction/producing, etc
Skills we would love you to have
- Knowledge of marketing or advertising on a national scale
- Commercial short-form filmmaking experience
- Understanding of platforms, measurement and impact
