Costume Dresser - Emmerdale, 12 Month FTCLeedsEmmerdale is one of ITV's most successful long running drama series, regularly attracting viewing figures of over 7 million. We are currently looking for a Costume Dresser to provide support to our Costume department over a 12 month period.As one of our Dressers, you will provide first line support for our Costume production teams whilst filming on location or in the studio. This is very much an entry level position into the Costume Department and we are looking for self-motivated individuals eager and ready to learn and pursue a career in Costume.You should have a passion for both costume and drama and will have gained experience working with other productions or within Theatre in a costume role. Understanding and being able to demonstrate a similar role in costume continuity will be beneficial. You will also possess basic sewing skills with the ability to perform small alterations/repairs.We will look to you to be flexible, reliable, punctual and organised, you must also be passionate about development and extending your knowledge. You will thrive in a fast paced environment and will be confident in liaising with cast and various departments in a professional manner. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to be flexible with regards to working hours - production days are long and this is a manual handling role involving the carrying of costumes; maneuvering heavy costume rails and working out of a van on location. You will need physical stamina.You will be highly creative and organised with a keen eye for detail. You will also possess the ability to effectively adapt your communicative approach when working with different individuals. A professional qualification in Art, Fashion or Costume Design is desirable but not essential.You will assist our Supervisors; Assistants and Principal Dressers in the preparation; checking and maintenance of costumes. You will also be responsible for the general care of costumes and accessories (to include washing and pressing). You should also possess basic sewing skills with the ability to perform small alterations/repairs. A driving licence is essential as you will have to travel between our Leeds studios and our various locations.Application deadline: Monday 30th September 2019If you have the relevant experience and are selected you will be asked to attend a Work Assessment Centre, in Leeds on Tuesday 15 October 2019. You will need to be available on that day.
