The Discovery team own BBC Children's relationship with the audience. We cover everything from Presentation to publishing on our TV Channels, CBeebies and CBBC, as well as iPlayer. We oversee Children's digital platforms for 0-16s, including Newsround and our suite of CBeebies apps for our youngest audience, as well as our growing YouTube portfolio and social media channels. We're responsible for working closely with programme makers, Design & Engineering and the wider BBC to ensure our brilliant content and products reach as big an audience as possible.
We are looking for 2 x Content Producer roles within in Children's Discovery department:
1 x Content Producer within Platforms: Managing live Children's apps and audience acquisition for a 6 month FTC/Attachment covering an attachment from 1st July 2019.
1 x Content Producer within Labs: Strategy and development projects for a 5 month FTC/Attachment covering an attachment from 10th June 2019.
Role Responsibility
Working to a Senior Content Producer, responsible for the delivery of content and strategy for digital Children's services (including apps, games, web, YouTube, Voice Skill)
Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure editorial input and updates are communicated and carried out on time and to a high standard.
Managing the production, scheduling and publishing of content, whilst establishing and maintaining successful processes and workflows.
Generating creative and compelling ways in which to engage new and existing audiences with digital content; planning, developing and managing promotional strategies.
Leading and managing the work and development of Assistant Content Producers and Researchers as required.
Developing and maintaining excellent communication and collaborations with Children's TV teams, Execs, BBC D&E, and wider BBC and external partnerships.
Establishing targets, tracking and delivering complex data analytics reports to drive performance and communicating findings to the wider department.
Able to take initiative and assume responsibility for day-to-day decision-making as well as taking a strategic view for long term projects.
Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments in interactive services in particular in relation to app and other digital platforms.
Are you the right candidate?
Good knowledge of the output of BBC Children's on all platforms.
Demonstrable technical or design skills using CMS tools and editing software such as Photoshop, After Effects and Adobe Premiere as well as Content Management Systems.
The ability to communicate complex processes and present compelling arguments to audiences of all levels of understanding.
The ability to lead and inspire others to achieve your objectives and meet your goals.
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and partners both inside and outside of the BBC.
A positive can-do attitude, able to demonstrate resilience when faced with challenges.
Be passionate and creative about children's digital experiences. Able to demonstrate what appeals to a children's audience, with an understanding of their behaviour and needs in this space.
Awareness of data protection and child protection issues.
