Content Producer

An enticing opportunity to work within the BBC Children's InHouse Productions team, developing ideas and producing interactive and digital content for much loved brands including The Dumping Ground, The Worst Witch, Go Jetters and Mr Tumble. You will focus mainly on our scripted (drama) InHouse brands and will also work on non-scripted brands when required.
This role is about producing innovative content for our existing digital formats, while also looking to the future and developing bold digital storytelling ideas for ages 0-16. You will be part of a team that strives to push boundaries and has produced a breadth of original content that includes online video drama series, Instagram dramas for 13 to 16s and fictional video diaries, social media accounts and vlogs from our beloved characters and shows. You will also work closely with our main series drama production colleagues to create and facilitate digital and interactive content from our returning InHouse drama series.
This role is line managed by the Senior Content Producer (Scripted), BBC Children's InHouse Interactive Productions and sits within the BBC Children's InHouse Interactive Productions unit. The role also involves close work with BBC Children's InHouse Productions Development teams and BBC Children's Content Discovery teams.
We are looking for an experienced Content Producer for a 12 month contract covering maternity leave from mid-February 2019.
Interviews are currently scheduled to take place w/c 14th January 2019.
Role Responsibility
Researching and developing new content possibilities across existing and emerging digital content platforms
Working with new and existing InHouse brands
Developing and working to project briefs
Taking ownership of commissions and projects - from inception to delivery - under the supervision of the Senior Content Producer
Contributing to content pitches and project/budget scoping
Audience engagement, knowledge and research for 0-16 age ranges
Finding talent to crew commissions - freelance and within the department
Producing video, audio and other digital and interactive content
Writing briefs for freelance talent to work to when pitching for work
Liaising with colleagues from brand production teams, filming crews and content discovery colleagues
Working to brand and platform guidelines
Presenting to colleagues on topics including new commissions and strategy
Some basic asset creation, including stills photography, editing visual assets - video and images - using Photoshop and video editing software such as Premiere
A good knowledge of the BBC's Editorial Policy, as well as awareness of BBC Child Protection Policy and Health and Safety Guidelines
Risk assessment and production safety experience or a willingness to train in this area
Budget awareness
Commitment to developing diverse content and production teams
Commitment to developing skills in self-shooting, self-editing and directing shoots
