Content Designer

London

At TransferWise, we have a clear mission - money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives.

We're looking for a talented Content Designer to make sure our customers get the help they need when they're a little stuck using our product.

What you'll be doing

You'll be embedded in the Getting Help team, helping make sure customers get the support they need using TransferWise. You'll join a team of writers already working on this problem - from personalising our help content, to crafting the emails we send to customers. And you'll be guided by a Copy lead, working with product managers, designers, analysts, and everyone else needed to get it done.

You'll be a part of the wider Design team at TransferWise, too. So you'll work daily with our team of writers, designers, and UX researchers. The Copy team will be your home - you'll collaborate and share with other writers, and attend our weekly crits.

Your day-to-day

At TransferWise, everyone gets a ton of freedom and autonomy. We won't be micromanaging, so you'll get the chance to:

Own the strategy for how we write, manage, structure, and optimise content within the Help Centre
Research, test, and iterate on how our customers access our FAQs and avenues to contact
Use data and customer insights to write and improve the content we show customers - and how they arrive to it
Work closely with product managers to understand the problems our customers face when using our product, and improve our content accordingly
Manage and report on the process by which our content is kept accurate and up-to-date

This role is for you if

You're a great writer with experience crafting effective, empathetic, clear, and jargon-free copy. And if you've got a content design background, or experience writing for digital products or services, that's even better.

You have 3+ years of writing experience, and some examples to prove it.
You know how to build the case for great words within a business, and how critical they are for customers.
You like getting deep into data (experience with Looker is a plus), and relish the idea of user testing your work.
You can give and receive feedback constructively, and you're always keen to learn.
You know how to work across different functions within a business, as well as across multiple offices and cultures.
You've worked with minimal direction before. But you also know when to align with other writers and designers, and when to ask for help.

This probably isn't for you if:

You have a background in writing for ads, landing pages, or social media content. This role is all about product.
You need a structured briefing process to do your best work.
P.S. Qualifications aren't that important to us. If you've got a great portfolio, and you're top-notch at articulating your thinking, we'd like to hear from you.

And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we'd also love to hear from you if you're from an under-represented demographic.
