Communications and Social Media Intern

West Kensington

Are you an ambitious graduate looking for your first step in communications? Have you been on the hunt for a break into the TV and entertainment industry? Banijay Group is looking for a Communications and Social Media Intern to join its global team, which operates across 16 territories worldwide.

Reporting to the Director of Group Communications, you will be responsible for assisting the global PR team in creating media lists, writing press collateral, organising events and managing the Group social media channels. With a need to generate new ideas, creativity, passion and proactivity is key. The ideal candidate will be organised, confident and very familiar with the world's leading social media channels. Unafraid to pick up the phone and with impeccable writing skills, the new Intern will work closely with the team in delivering on the Group's internal and external communications strategy.

Responsibilities include:
• Work with the Director of Group Communications to draft press releases and PR collateral;
• act as a key liaison point for the Group's global companies and be proactive and sourcing news and information across the business;
• upload all Group press releases to the Banijay Group website, intranet and social media channels;
• research key trends and industry stories for sharing across the Group's social media channels;
• support the team in organising and delivering Group events;
• manage and regularly update all press media lists and databases;
• collate and organise a global transmission and news grid;
• monitor and file all press coverage;
• regularly review the key terms and press cuttings on the Group media monitoring service;
• source programme information across the Group footprint;
• monitor social media and news outlets, for any news relating to the Banijay Group and its brands; and
• continually be on the hunt for best practice across competitor brands.

Knowledge & Skills
• Excellent written skills and an eye for detail;
• fantastic telephone skills;
• a self-starter with a 'can-do', proactive attitude;
• effective in managing own time and prioritising tasks;
• flexible and adaptable in the face of change;
• confident and unphased in asking questions; and
• sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
