Commissioning Editor

Do you have an eye for a good story? Do you have a strong sense of what makes a story work for different audiences? Can you develop compelling story lines that get people talking, sharing and acting? If so, WWF is looking for you.

WWF, the world's leading independent conservation organisation, is looking for a Commissioning Editor to help develop cutting-edge communications that engage the nation in our causes around the world, attract new audiences and supporters, as well as build a movement to accelerate the action urgently needed to actively restore nature to its glorious best.

Managing a team of two researchers, you will be responsible for finding and developing inspiring WWF stories, and commissioning compelling content for News, PR, Social, Web and Fundraising channels. You will also ensure all information and content is technically accurate, credible, consistent, and on-brand.

As part of an in-house team dedicated to producing world-class stories and content to help reach and engage policy, business, media, public and fundraising audiences, you will play an important part in delivering WWF's core content strategy.

Commissioning Editor - Requirement

You will be an experienced commissioning editor, with an excellent track record in researching and developing engaging stories for a variety of audiences, platforms and channels. You will have a good understanding of the modern media landscape, and experience of commissioning film, photography and written stories, ideally in an international context.

You will be self-sufficient and proactive, supporting the fast paced delivery of stories and content for news, PR, social, web, fundraising and others across the organisation.

You will have excellent attention to detail, with strong editorial / copywriting skills, able to turn sometimes technical or complex information into something appealing to a mass audience.

You are able to work at pace, pragmatically and adapt to changing circumstances.
