Comedy Director

Comedy Director
Taylor Herring's production arm, St Marks Studios, is looking for a comedy director for a short term period to support the video and event production team.


Responsibilities:
Development: Creating video ideas designed to increase the performance of specific campaign goals. Comfortable pitching ideas in-person and on calls - able to embrace ideas of others that improve concepts.

Writing: Experience with short-form comedy branded content. Experience writing copy and A/V style commercial scripts. Ability to script projects independently and incorporate feedback. Ability to work with and advise wider content team members.

Production and Directing: Experience directing shoots and talent in-studio and on-location essential. Ability to plan, communicate frame and execute shot lists. Ability to capture key deliverables on limited budgets and schedules.

Producing: Candidate will support the head of production and producers to keep projects on schedule and within scope - and support related processes such as locations and casting. Experience working with video editors providing actionable notes incorporating notes from client essential. The candidate must be confident to create storyboards and clearly envision how shots to look.

Communication and Collaboration: Maintain project files and information across shared video team folders. Support video development process. Support brainstorming sessions with individual client teams. Pitch projects to internal and external clients. Communicate with Producers to assure proper execution of contracts and applicable legal needs. Create calendars for video planning and milestones. Ensure on-time receipt and delivery of video content. Additional editorial responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


Requirements:
5+ years' experience creating and managing video advertising projects

Experience concepting, planning, casting, creating shot lists and directing talent.

In-depth knowledge of video-production process from development to delivery

Exceptional sense of story with written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work within budgets as defined by Producer

Ability to interface professionally and effectively with clients and senior-level staff

Must be detail-oriented and able to manage the details of simultaneous projects

Ability to effectively pivot to support changes in scope and schedules

Should have a proven track record of delivering projects on time
