DescriptionWe are on the lookout for an experienced CG supervisor who is ready to take on their next challenge by working many projects including a DreamWorks Animated Feature.The CG Supervisor works closely with the VFX Supervisor and show Leadership team to supervise and achieve the desired look of the show as it relates to lighting, compositing, and effects and ensures all deliverables align with the production schedule and budget.Start Date: ASAPStudio: The EdgePlease note - due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Jellyfish Pictures is currently operating remotely. In order to be considered for this job, you will therefore need to be able to work from home at least at the beginning of your appointment. Should things change, artists will be required to work in studio from London. If shortlisted for an interview, you will be sent some questions to assess your homeworking capability.RequirementsESSENTIALStrong understanding of lighting/shading/texturing principles and the whole animation pipeline principles and techniquesExcellent knowledge of Maya, Redshift, Arnold, Houdini and Vray.A good understanding of animation, Lighting and FX simulationA familiarity with pipeline issues and scripting languages: python, melExperience with Nuke and a solid understanding of the compositing processExperience using ShotgunStrong communication skills are critical. Must be able to work within a team, taking direction and exercising attention to detail in a fast-paced production environmentAbility to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasksAbility to work well under pressure and open to working flexible hoursTroubleshooting issues when they arise, working with Production to deliver the project on time and to a high quality.RESPONSIBILITIESWorking closely with the VFX Supervisor to establish the lighting and effects style of the show maximising efficiency and ensuring high level feature quality in a fast-paced environmentWork with Lighting Supervisor to ensure the set-up, light, rig and the required environment and character lighting is delivered.Work with the Compositing Supervisor to setup, organise and document show specific comp toolsWork closely with the CFX/FX/Crowd Supervisor to develop show appropriate rigs and solutionsIdentify creative and technical lighting requirements as required using lighting and compositing tools and ensure these are in place.Work closely with the tech/pipeline team to pre plan pipeline requirements to ensure the show delivers to scheduleTechnically lead the team throughout the show, ensuring that good and clear communication occurs at all times between the artists, production team, technology teams, and department supervisorsContribute to the bidding and crewing for the project (and as required for any additional projects) and proactively provide feedback on crew and the pipeline.Actively support in the selection and recruitment of new team members.Note:We are unable to sponsor any visa applications for this role.
