As a member of the archive cataloguing team you will service ITN's internal clients (such as the newsrooms) and sales agent, Getty Images by processing and delivering picture content to the highest standards. To catalogue a variety of content types (bulletin, legacy & rushes); apply rights & restrictions and metadata to content; select and re-purpose content for a variety of purposes.

Responsibilities

Cataloguing and archiving of picture content (bulletin, legacy, partner and rushes content) in a manner appropriate to its likely future reuse or resale value
Undertake the technical processes necessary for picture content to be archived digitally
Seek out copyright details and associate with picture content
Determine legal and copyright restrictions affecting reuse and sale of picture content and associate with imagery
Work as part of a team to select archive content, advise on copyright and restrictions, and arrange or undertake delivery.
In case of a big breaking news story, it may be required to work outside normal shift hours
To take responsibility for the health and safety of your working environment and communicate any health and safety issues appropriately
To keep abreast of issues affecting the footage/content industry and to be aware of market developments
To operate in a professional manner at all times
To have an awareness and understanding of the financial implications of all decision making

Qualifications

Ability to establish a good working knowledge of Digital Asset Management, archiving and delivery processes
Ability to utilise equipment / software and adapt rapidly to new technologies
Strong grammar and spelling skills
Understanding of copyright and restrictions affecting exploitation of moving pictures
Ability to ensure attention to detail in all elements of work undertaken along with a positive and determined approach
Ability to prioritise, manage workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines and Service Level Agreements
Good general knowledge and an interest in news and current affairs
A strong interest in moving picture archives, service delivery and a willingness to work in a commercial and results driven environment is necessary
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
An eye for good pictures
Driven and highly motivated with an approachable manner
Ability to function effectively as part of a team as well as capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual
Self-starter able to use initiative in proposing solutions to problems and ability to proactively assist in planning to avoid problems
The ability to foster good relationships with colleagues
Professional archive or library qualification is preferred but is not essential
In keeping with the requirements of a 24/7 production company, a flexible attitude in terms of hours and shifts is required
A good understanding of events spanning the last 120 years
