The National Theatre is at its best when it is making work which is progressive, ambitious and inclusive. The actors who appear on the NT stages are one of the most conspicuous signs of our commitment to these aims.

The Casting Department consists of the Head of Casting, Deputy Head of Casting, Casting Associate, and two Casting Assistants, including this appointment. The department takes responsibility for the casting of up to 25 productions mounted on the stages at the National Theatre every year together with those produced by the Learning Department. It also liaises with the National's New Work Department on casting for its projects.

The Casting Assistants are vital members of the Casting Department. The job provides full administrative support to the Head of Casting and all members of the Department in casting the repertoire and ensures the smooth running of the Casting Office.

We're looking for applicants with experience working as an Assistant within a professional theatre company or comparable arts organisation. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion.

A knowledge of, and enthusiasm for all things drama/theatre, actors and acting is essential!
