Primary Tasks:
The responsibility of the Cameraperson is to assemble, prepare and set up camera and associated equipment prior to filming, find and manage technical problems, repair and maintain associated equipment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assembling, preparing and setting up equipment prior to filming, which may include tripods, monitors, lighting, cables and leads, and headphones.
Offering advice on how best to shoot a scene, explaining the visual impact created by particular shots.
Editing videos and assembling all raw footage with camera shots.
Planning shots to avoid multiple takes (if on an OB).
Practising the camera moves required for pre-arranged shots.
Finding solutions to technical or other practical problems.
Being prepared to innovate and experiment with ideas.
Working quickly, and efficiently.
Keeping up to date with filming methods and equipment.
Repairing and maintaining equipment.
Liaising with lighting and technical staff.
Creatively framing and capturing action.
Essential Skills/ Personal Attributes and Knowledge:
A good sense of visual composition, perspective and movement.
Ability to collaborate, and to work as part of a team.
Ability to carry out instructions with great accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to frame and compose shots and perform camera moves with precision and speed.
In-depth knowledge of the principles of camera work.
Proven track record of delivering camera shots to an exceptionally good standard.
Proven track record of working in a live news television environment.
Previously worked in a multilingual, Arabic and English Television environment.
Knowledge of the relevant electronics.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
Good colour vision, and excellent hand-to-eye co-ordination.
Physical stamina for working long hours and moving heavy equipment.
Knowledge of the requirements of the relevant Health and Safety legislation and procedures.
Responding quickly to directions.
Experience & Qualification:
More 5 years or more experience in television environment.
Certificate or training in relevant field is desired.
