Summary:

The Cameraperson is responsible for the acquisition of news and programmes footage on location using ENG camera, sound, lighting and edit equipment. edit the material in all its aspects .

Ensuring the material reached the news room in its highest standard and quality using the feeding devices other than the SNG.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability:

Rig & operation of ENG equipment on location for acquisition of news and programmes material
Maintains and looks after ENG equipment to the highest standard
Works closely with editorial field teams to deliver high quality live and recorded material from the field
Edits all the required material (Packages, Clips, Rushes...)
Maintains accurate documentation of equipment for shipping and customs purposes
Maintains neat archive on a daily basis of his work.
Meets editorial deadlines for delivery of edited packages from the field
Assists editorial staff with the pre-planning of news and programmes events, Starting from Idea Generating to synopsis and/ until the package is done.
Documents and reports any technical problems encountered with ENG equipment
Assists with development of new technical workflows & equipment associated with newsgathering
Follows and works within all safety guidelines produced by the network or contracted security advisors
Works closely with department coordinators to achieve efficiency in mission planning and tasks
Stays in touch with the state of the art technology in his field
Willingness to travel, work long hours, weekends, or overnights when required.
Job Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum National Academic Diploma or Bachelor degree in Media or related fields
A minimum 3 years working in television environment and demonstrable interest in ENG Camera work
Broadcast standards including HD 1080i, SDI, AES/EBU, MPEG, PAL 625, NTSC
Operation of Broadcast TV Cameras, lighting and sound equipment
Operation of MAC computers and nonlinear edit software
International news and current affairs
