A fully multi-skilled camera operator capable of filming and editing reports on a wide range of news stories and features. A broadcast news professional with a proven track record of shooting high quality pictures. ResponsibilitiesFilm events, picture sequences and interviews in full liaison with other team membersA highly technical role requiring the ability to shoot and edit to high broadcast standardsWork alongside the 5 News correspondents as needed but on occasion can also work alone to shoot sequences or interviewsCreatively film and construct packages for TV and digitalUnderstand the 5 News agenda and how the camera role is crucial to delivering stories that connect with our audienceOperate a camera and associated equipment, including sound equipmentUse lighting equipment, reliably and creatively to a high technical standardUndertake the direction of live outside broadcasts.Maintain equipment including the ordering of spare partsto ensure kit stays in correct working orderFacilitate the speedy delivery of material for TX using internet, IP and satellite feedsResponsible for adhering to ITN's health and safety regulations in the fieldLiaise with the newsdesk on deployments and operational requirementsWork under own initiative to capture the best footageBe prepared to work across the whole of the UK and abroad when requiredThis job description identifies the main requirement of the role.
