Camera Assistant - Talent Pool

UK - various (London, Cardiff, Salford, Glasgow)

Provide support to a highly skilled camera team.

Role Responsibility

Under supervision work on the rigging, de-rigging and preparation of electronic cameras and equipment including line-up and checking equipment performance and safety.
Operate an electronic camera according to the briefing and cueing, to obtain television pictures to meet the artistic and technical requirements of the production.
Operate or direct the operation of camera mountings and associated cabling to meet the artistic and technical requirements of the production.
Assist in the resolution of operational problems of camera position, and movement and shot feasibility.
Undertake the front-line maintenance, under supervision, where technical malfunction occurs on the equipment.
Liaise with artists and others to facilitate the best picture taking, passing significant problems for resolution to the appropriate person as necessary.
Contribute to the development of techniques associated with new equipment and production demands.
Following appropriate training perform general operational duties including:
Sound, camera and vision systems rigging, movement and de-rigging;
Monitor, projection equipment, prompting devices rigging, movement and de-rigging;
Cable handling;
Boom tracking;
Fishing rod operation;
Driving any vehicle to the limit of the postholders licence with the consent of the individual whenever possible;
Lift gain and colour balance on simple recordings.
To rig and operate video recorders and players and the loading, unloading and movement of video tapes.
With experience operate, to a general production brief, an independent camera, providing a feed to a complex operation or separate VT equipment as part of a larger crew.

Are you the right candidate?

Practical experience working with camera equipment, and relevant theoretical based training.
Working knowledge of green and blue screen effects in liaison with the special effects team.
Knowledge of relevant health and safety guidelines and legislation
