Business Development Executive

Industry News is a division of ITN Productions that produces broadcast-quality news-style programming in partnership with leading bodies and national associations representing different professions and industry sectors. The programmes are made up of in-depth interviews with industry leaders and influencers, independent news items covering key topics and issues, delivered alongside sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations. They provide constructive, accurate and positive storytelling in a compelling news-style format. A bespoke narrowcast campaign, using events, direct email distribution, press and social media ensures the entire industry sector, influencers and wider stakeholders engage with the content.

The Industry News Special Projects division provides a full range of creative video content solutions for clients, who are mostly, but not exclusively, introduced to Industry News through our Association news-style programming.

Job Purpose:

To manage and optimise relationships with existing Industry News clients in order to improve client retention levels, develop additional revenue streams and ensure client satisfaction levels are exceptional. To develop the Special Projects business, through upselling and cross-selling video production services, and meeting the strategic communication needs of a diverse range of clients, with creative video solutions and campaigns. To achieve a set revenue target through converting existing clients into larger spending clients.

The Business Development Execuitve, should create a communications plan for existing clients, including touchpoints following the delivery of an Industry News film, and begin reconnecting with participants from previous years' projects. They will ensure regular communication to our client contacts with updates on our work and information regarding attendance at events. This role will also provide valuable feedback to management on how our existing clients invest in video content.
Responsibilities

DEVELOP INDUSTRY NEWS CLIENTS - PAST AND CURRENT

Assist the Senior Producer in providing a communication cycle for Industry News clients, including contact during the production process and following the delivery of films.
Use Salesforce and other existing data to arrange leads and contacts, and complete and update data where necessary to form a complete prospect list.
Attend the launches of programmes and other relevant events to develop relationships with clients.
Gather testimonials and feedback from clients, as well information on how brands are approaching their video content needs, including budget cycles, marketing spend, and competitor analysis.

UPSELL AND CROSS-SELL TO INDUSTRY NEWS CLIENTS

Contact organisations by phone, email and other media to explain the services for creating content or adapting existing content, and arrange meetings to develop ideas and close business.
Refine our creative corporate content offering, including our USPs as Industry news and ITN Productions. , deadlines we're working to, and strong reasons for partnering with us
Develop collateral for meetings including commissioning show reels, designing presentations and building case studies.
Work towards a proposition whereby ITN Productions becomes a 'content partner' with clients, entering into an exclusive long-term production agreement.

SUPPORT THE TEAM TO DEVELOP THE INDUSTRY NEWS PROPOSITION

Encourage existing clients to leverage their content and get the most out of their films with advice and guidance.
Measure client satisfaction levels, and gather research and insight into the video content market place that can be used in the initial pitch and production process.
Day-to-day account management. Maintain contact with clients on a regular basis, possibly arranging events and entertainment as opportunities to build relationships with clients.
Construct a regular communication to all partners and clients to advance the Industry News brand, this could include a newsletter or activity on social media.

Qualifications

Corporate video production experience
Commercial awareness and business acumen
Creative flair
Client Relationship Management and Business Development experience
Polished written, telephone, and face-to-face communication skills, including strong writing skills
Ability to successfully liaise with and sell to C-level Executives
Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
Comfortable using own initiative while still working as part of larger team
Interest in current affairs
Strong interpersonal skills - you must be personable, and effective at building rapport quickly
Professional manner
Excellent MS Office skills - particularly Excel
Experience using Salesforce preferred but not essential
