We are looking for an experienced Broadcast Technical Operator to join our team on a 6 month fixed term contract.
You will be a highly motivated person who will strive to continue QVC's high standards in Broadcasting. You will be able to quickly identify errors and think on your feet with new ideas to overcome these. You will take pride in our live broadcasting and enjoy helping the team to continually improve.

There's a lot to get excited about as this position will allow you to use your expertise for live and recorded programming in the areas of: Operating Cameras including Robotics, Vision, Lighting and Sound. You will rig broadcast equipment or product demos in preparation for live recorded programming whilst ensuring broadcast standards are met. Health and Safety is key in this role so you will maintain a safe working environment at all times and assist the Camera Supervisor with Risk Assessment familiarisation to new staff and freelancers.

You will report directly to the Camera Supervisor and once you are established in the role, you will be required to deputise for him/ her when the need arises. In time, you will assist with the training of new staff to help them reach QVC standards.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate expertise in all of the skills listed above and an aptitude for fault diagnosis and fault description as well as have a 'track record' for providing 'work around' solutions to short notice 'production' or 'logistical' challenges. You must have considerable broadcast experience in television with an emphasis on the live studio environment, with operation of broadcast equipment in TV Operations, TV Engineering, electronics/ telecommunications, with a core understanding of lighting techniques. You will have considerable experience of working with television concepts including digital broadcast systems and camera chains.

You will need to have either a foundation degree/ HND or equivalent in TV Operations and experience in multi camera studio operations in a live production environment. You will have a good standard of computer literacy and the ability to pick up the companies' information system quickly, together with excellent interpretation and communication skills.

Applicants must have normal colour vision and have significant previous experience, in a similar position.
