Broadcast Engineer

Leeds

A regional Broadcast Engineer is a key operational member of our team supporting Global in utilising technology effectively and efficiently to keep things working and our radio stations on air.

You'll be based at one of our state-of-the-art Broadcast Centres and be part of a team of engineers supporting the region. You'll participate in an on-call rota for emergency incidents.

What you'll be doing

Proactively and reactively maintaining studios and other broadcast facilities

Supporting the regional commercial teams technology requirements. Both within the broadcast centre and remotely

Providing efficient service management by :

Logging, prioritising and progressing all incidents to completion

Managing planned change

Utilising monitoring solutions to identify and resolve incidents

Ensuring documentation is kept up-to-date

Providing support and training to non-technical colleagues in using our Technology, including to reduce broadcast outages

Being a local representative of the Technology Operations team on all matters including Broadcast Engineering, IT, Workspace and Security

Ensuring compliance with Technology, Data Protection, Information Security and Health and Safety policies

Planning, setup and operation of Outside Broadcasts and Events

Participating in an operational callout rota to provide urgent support outside of normal working hours

Working with other divisions (e.g. Outdoor) as required

Who you'll work with...

Broadcast Engineers (Regional and London)

Global Helpdesk team

Other specialist support staff in Technology & Operations Team

Presenters, producers, journalists and commercial team

You'll have these skills

Excellent knowledge of Electronics and Information Technology

Excellent understanding of Broadcast Technology in use at Global

Relevant experience and qualifications

Understanding of service management principles

A clean driving license

On top of that, you'll be someone who

Has a "can-do" attitude

Has great customer service skills

Takes responsibility for their own work

Is brilliant at planning and organising and juggling different priorities

Has an ability to solve problems and resolve issues quickly and calmly

And of course you'll demonstrate our Global behaviours
